Daily Prayer

Prayer is an important part of life here at St Joseph's.  There are many ways that we pray and below are some prayers that you might like to use.

College Prayer

Loving God, Today I am filled with hope I ask that you share your courage so that I am ready for whatever lies ahead.

May I be generous with You God, acting in love so that:

When I reach out, I reach out with compassion and understanding.

When I stand, I stand with strength and dignity.

When I learn, I learn deeply and with commitment.

When I serve, I serve with loyalty and humility.

When I am still, I contemplate and reflect with gratitude.

I pray that this day, I can unite with others and live the way that Jesus taught us to live.

May his cross become the tree of life so that his words, are my thoughts and actions for the good of all.

Amen.

May we act with courage; To love, learn and serve.

Our Father

Our Father,
who art in heaven,
hallowed be thy name;
thy kingdom come;
thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread;
and forgive us our trespasses
as we forgive those who trespass against us;
and lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from evil.

Amen

Hail Mary

Hail Mary full of Grace, the Lord is with thee.

Blessed are thou amongst women and blessed is the fruit of thy womb Jesus.

Holy Mary Mother of God,

pray for us sinners now and at the hour of our death

Amen.

An Easter blessing to you and your loved ones:

Deep Peace of the shining stars to you,

Deep Peace of the quiet earth to you,

Deep Peace of the Son on Peace to you

This Easter time and all throughout the year!

The Middle Class of Holiness

The saints next door are working in hospitals,and supermarkets and every industry which supports them.

The saints next door are working from home, in less than ideal working conditions.

The saints next door are fielding questions from heightened children, who are overwhelmed by their change in routine.

The saints next door are calling on vulnerable neighbours who haven’t left their homes in weeks.

The saints next door are making decisions which affect an entire nation despite the immense criticism they receive.

The saints next door are walking their dogs more often than their dogs see fit.

The saints next door are frantically studying for exams, unsure when they will return to school.

The saints next door are face timing their family and friends who they ordinarily just text.

The saints next door are staying at home even though their own four walls are caving in on them.

The saints next door are eating too much take away, to ensure their local businesses survive.

The saints next door are striving to keep the routine of daily life as normal as possible for the sake of their own mental health.

The saints next door continue to teach the students, despite their own lives being thrown into chaos.

The saints next door aren’t going to their workplace,despite their important deadlines.

The saints next door aren’t visiting their vulnerable family and friends, despite the guilt that goes with this.

The saints next door aren’t going to Holy Thursday Mass, or Stations of the Cross, or the Easter Vigil.

And the saints next door cannot commemorate the ANZAC Day parade this year.

But the saints next door trust that God will protect those we love and who love us,and the saints next door have faith that this too shall pass.

And the saints next door have immense faith in a God who never imposed a season of Lent without an end.

Lord, lead us into the stillness of your heart, that we may find rest.

Through Christ our Lord,

Amen
